With the current banquet orders, couples everywhere are having to get creative with their receptions. Here are some fun, Covid-friendly games and activities to have during your reception!
1) Name that Tune/Finish the Lyrics
This is an awesome way to incorporate music during the reception and to utilize your DJ! There are a few ways to go about this COVID-friendly idea, but we think it would be fun for tables to compete against each other. Each table would be given a dry-erase board and whoever writes and reveals the answer the quickest wins!

2) Shoe Game
A classic, hilarious game that may reveal some secrets about the couple! The newlyweds sit back-to-back and remove both of their shoes. The DJ or emcee asks questions like “who’s most likely to talk their way out of a speeding ticket?”. The couple would raise the shoe of the person they think fits the description!

3) Trivia
Like “Name that Tune”, tables could compete against each other, or as individuals. If you have a themed wedding (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Christmas..etc), this could be a great way to incorporate the theme! Trivia about the families could also get a little interesting!

4) Who Said It?
We personally like this idea for cocktail hour. Because, guests are enjoying their drinks, they can be given a list of options and try to match which description best fits for the couple.

5) Coloring Books
While this is idea is mostly for kids, a custom coloring book/page of the happy couple is fun and unique! Check out Etsy for different artists who offer this service. And don’t forget the crayons (Crayola, NOT Rose Art).

6) Board Games
Another great cocktail hour idea! Cards, Jenga, Yahtzee, Clue, Exploding Kittens, Codenames… The options are endless. However, whatever you choose, be sure to have extra hand sanitizer at each table and sanitary wipes.

7) Pictionary
A great option for the newlyweds to compete against each other with their sides of the rooms or wedding party! A large chalkboard, dry-erase board, or giant paper tablet will do.

8) Mad Libs
This is a fun table activity for your guests. Also, it’s always funny to see who can’t remember what an adverb is 😉 Customize and create your own story for the guests with a scenario about the happy couple!

9) Date Night Cards
A small stack of notecards on each table asking for date ideas, advice, or just a happy thought would add a touch of much-needed intimacy for your guests!

10) Family Feud
Ask your DJ if this is possible with their projector! Depending on the size of your reception, tables or the sides of the rooms could compete as “families”. You can even make a custom Family Feud game using PowerPoint relating to the wedding theme or couple!

Thanks for reading and we hope some of these COVID-friendly ideas helped! Be sure to stay up-to-date on the latest banquet orders for Ohio. Also, call the office or email your sales coordinator with any questions you may have!
